- Acoustic Treatment for Call Center Clarity and Comfort
Acoustic Treatment for Call Center Clarity and Comfort

Project Overview
A call center was struggling with a classic open-plan issue: too much noise. Echo from wall to wall made it hard for agents to focus and take calls comfortably. Beyond the noise, there was also a need to create more privacy and personal space for each workstation.
To tackle this, DECIBEL delivered a combined solution: wall-mounted acoustic panels to control echo across the room, and acoustic desk separators with a sleek, custom design.
Why Acoustic Treatment Matters
Call centers rely on clear communication. Excess echo and overlapping voices create confusion, reduce productivity, and wear down staff focus. Acoustic treatments, like sound-absorbing panels and separators, calm the noise and create a better environment for every call.
Challenge
The project had two challenges. First, the room had strong wall-to-wall echo, a typical problem in big, open spaces. Second, the call center needed acoustic desk separators that were more than just partitions, they had to be the right size, blend with the design, and offer a practical surface for posting notes.
Scope of Work
- Acoustic analysis to confirm the level of echo and noise overlap
- Design and delivery of aluminum-framed desk separators with custom fabric panels
- Desk separators built to exact custom dimensions to fit each workstation
- Surfaces on desk panels that double as pinboards for notes and reminders
Solution
DECIBEL created a full acoustic band along the walls using high-performance acoustic panels. This band absorbed reflected sound and cut down on echoes that made calls difficult.
For the workstations, custom desk separators were built with aluminum frames and finished with acoustic fabric panels. These panels didn’t just help with noise, they also gave staff a surface to stick up notes and keep personal items within reach.
The project used careful sizing to make sure the desk separators fit perfectly and didn’t interfere with day-to-day work of employees.
Result
After the installation, the room felt calmer and more focused. The echo was gone, and agents noticed calls were clearer and easier to manage. The desk separators added a layer of privacy and gave the space a more organized, personal feel.
This project proved that a thoughtful mix of wall panels and workstation separators can transform even the busiest call center into a quieter, more comfortable place to work.
