Soundproofing and Acoustic Treatment of a Luxury Residence
Project Overview
DECIBEL was selected to design and deliver complete soundproofing and acoustic treatment solutions for Lozenets Dinevi Residence. This is a premium multifunctional building in Sofia, Bulgaria. The project required high-quality acoustic solutions across various spaces, including luxury apartments, offices, a multifunctional hall, and wellness facilities.
The building combines modern architecture with traditional elements. Its goal is to offer a high standard of living through comfort, innovation, and environmentally friendly design. Acoustic comfort was considered a key part of this vision.
Why Acoustic Treatment Matters
In mixed-use buildings, noise can easily travel between apartments, offices, and shared facilities. Without proper insulation, sound from conversations, music, or equipment can disrupt both rest and productivity. For premium properties, acoustic performance is a necessary feature.
Sound insulation and acoustic treatment improve privacy, reduce stress, and increase the overall quality of life for all occupants. In this project, the challenge was to provide tailored solutions for both residential and functional areas.
Challenge
The building contains multiple types of spaces, each with different acoustic needs. Apartments require privacy and peace. Offices need focus and low noise levels. Common areas like the hall and restaurant demand clear sound and reduced echo.
The goal was to deliver high-level sound insulation between separate units while improving interior acoustic comfort. All systems had to be compatible with the building’s high design standards and environmental approach.
Scope of Work
- Acoustic planning by DECIBEL engineers
- Delivery of sound insulation systems for walls and ceilings
- Installation of acoustic wall panels in key areas
- Application across residential and shared functional spaces
Solution
To meet the acoustic and design requirements of the building, DECIBEL provided a complete package of sound insulation and absorption materials. For structural soundproofing between apartments and functional spaces, the BLOCK SYSTEM was used. To improve interior acoustic comfort, ECHO fabric panels with engineered foam cores were installed on selected walls.
In areas where higher insulation performance was required, VISTO 48 panels were applied to walls and ceilings. These multi-layer elastic panels provide better results than traditional materials like Rockwool or fiberglass. For fire safety and acoustic control, TECWOOL panels were also used.
To further increase the density and sound-blocking capacity of the systems, the DCvisco™ membrane was added between insulation layers and the final plasterboard. Each product was carefully selected to match the function, acoustic needs, and design of the individual space.
Result
With the installed systems, the building now offers significantly improved sound insulation between apartments, workspaces, and shared zones. Interior spaces also benefit from better speech clarity and reduced reverberation.
Residents and visitors experience a calm and private environment, in line with the building’s vision for modern, comfortable living rooted in tradition.
