DECIBEL undertook the challenge of improving the acoustic environment at Hyperzon, an office space in Sofia, by implementing a comprehensive solution tailored to its unique needs. With concrete surfaces and glass partitions, the office posed significant acoustic challenges, requiring a careful balance between functionality and design aesthetics.

Scope of Work

• Thorough on-site consultations and acoustic assessments to understand the specific challenges of the office space.
• A close collaboration with COZY Design Studio overseeing the renovation to integrate acoustic solutions seamlessly into the overall design concept.
• Recommendations and installation of a range of acoustic panels, including mesh panels for ceilings, Gyza foam panels for the main conference room, ACER designer panels for another conference room, and textile panels for office areas.
• Design and implementation of Block System soundproofing walls to address sound leakage between meeting rooms and open office spaces.
• Custom design and installation of metal ducts to further dampen sound transfer and improve speech privacy.
• A plan for future installation of custom print panels to add personalised elements to the space.

Our Solution

DECIBEL's solution involved a holistic approach to address Hyperzon's diverse acoustic challenges while complementing its industrial design theme. Collaborating closely with the design studio, DECIBEL recommended and installed a variety of acoustic panels tailored to different areas within the office.

Mesh panels were strategically placed on ceilings to provide effective acoustic absorption while adding visual interest. Gyza foam panels in the main conference room were painted black to harmonize with the industrial vibe and ensure a consistent surface finish. ACER designer panels introduced a touch of warmth with wood accents in another conference room, enhancing the overall ambience. Textile panels were selected for office areas, offering improved acoustics, vibrant colour options, and easy maintenance.

Additionally, Block System soundproofing walls were installed to mitigate sound leakage issues, ensuring privacy and minimizing distractions. Custom metal ducts were designed and installed to further attenuate sound transfer, resulting in enhanced speech privacy and reduced noise levels.

Result
