Project Overview

DECIBEL collaborated with Nitea, our partner company specialising in office furniture, on an acoustic project for an IT office. As Nitea supplied the furniture, they also wanted to ensure the space delivered a comfortable sound environment for employees. During the initial site visit, DECIBEL identified that the conference rooms would suffer from significant echo, which could disrupt meetings and daily communication.

A simulation was conducted to calculate the required number of acoustic panels, after which DECIBEL and Nitea worked together to develop a final proposal that balanced design and performance.

Solution

DECIBEL proposed and installed textile acoustic panels of different thicknesses. Using a mix of thicknesses improved the acoustic effect by absorbing a broader range of frequencies, while the fabric finish complemented the office design. By working closely with Nitea, the panels were arranged to not only solve the acoustic issue but also fit within the overall aesthetic of the new office interior.

Result

The conference rooms were transformed into spaces with clearer sound and reduced reverberation, making meetings more efficient and comfortable. Both Nitea and the IT office client were satisfied with the result, as the project successfully combined acoustic performance with modern design.
