- Acoustic Treatment for Podcast Studio and Conference Room
Acoustic Treatment for Podcast Studio and Conference Room

Project Overview
Ocean Investment partnered once again with DECIBEL to complete an acoustic transformation inside their headquarters. The project involved two multifunctional spaces: a new podcast studio for the popular show “Hour for Us” and a compact conference room for daily meetings of the team.
The client needed solutions that would deliver premium sound quality, modern visual appeal, and most importantly quick installation. All of this had to be achieved without compromising the functionality or aesthetics of the interiors of both rooms.
Why Acoustic Treatment Matters
Whether you're recording a podcast or hosting a company meeting, sound clarity and control are highly important. Poor acoustics can lead to echo and noise fatigue, which could undermine content quality and communication. Proper acoustic treatment makes sure that speech remains clear, distractions are minimized, and the space supports productivity and creativity of the team.
Challenge
This project presented a trio of challenges. Firstly, the client wanted a design that aligned with the visual identity of the podcast, which meant integrating custom acoustic elements with a modern and chic look. Secondly, the launch of the podcast’s first episodes was scheduled just three weeks from the project start, leaving a narrow window for design, production, and installation. And lastly, the podcast room had lightweight partition walls that allowed significant sound to come through from surrounding spaces. That required a combined approach to soundproofing and interior design under tight deadlines for the DECIBEL team.
Scope of Work
- On-site acoustic inspection and consultation
- Design and production of GLL textile panels and vertical PET Baffles for the podcast studio
- Installation of MUTE System wall sound insulation in the conference room
- Application of Echo Wall Panels and WAVO Perforated Wood Panels for broadband acoustic treatment
- Final layout, color approval, full installation, calibration, and measurement.
Solution
DECIBEL began with detailed 3D simulations to calculate the optimal balance between sound absorption and diffusion. The podcast studio was equipped with custom GLL fabric panels and suspended PET Baffles, creating a high-performance environment with strong visual identity and wideband acoustic control.
For the conference room, the wall structure was upgraded using the MUTE System to block sound transmission. The space was then treated with Echo Wall Panels for mid-high frequency absorption and WAVO Perforated Panels to control the low-mid range.
Throughout the process, DECIBEL worked closely with the client through multiple design iterations, finalizing colors and configurations before executing a swift and efficient installation.
Result
From the very first recording, the sound quality in the new podcast studio was exceptionally clean and full, reducing the post-production time by half. In the conference room, conversations are now held without disruptive background noise, creating a calm, focused atmosphere ideal for daily operations.
Visually, both spaces align perfectly with Ocean Investment’s modern interior style, enhanced by the unique character of DECIBEL’s custom acoustic panels.
