Project Overview

In Trnava, Slovakia, a production hall operated by BOGE Elastmetall Slovakia SpA was experiencing a persistent noise issue. A single machine produced significantly more noise than the others, disrupting operations across the hall.

The client approached DECIBEL for a tailored soundproofing solution to isolate the noisy unit without disrupting workflow or accessibility.

Challenge

The challenge lay in creating a soundproof enclosure for the machine that would substantially reduce airborne noise while maintaining full functionality. The design had to account for operational access, including material input and output, as well as visual control by the operator.

Additionally, the entire structure had to be installed quickly and efficiently within an active production environment.

Scope of Work

  • Acoustic analysis of the machine’s noise levels and operating conditions
  • Design of a modular, prefabricated acoustic enclosure using PZP industrial soundproofing panels
  • Integration of the steel supporting structure
  • Inclusion of double swing doors for material entry and exit
  • Installation of a viewing window for operator supervision
  • Integration of motion-activated lighting inside the enclosure
  • On-site delivery, dry installation, and anchoring to the existing floor and columns
  • Full installation completed within 3 days

Solution

DECIBEL engineered a bespoke soundproof cabin using PZP acoustic panels mounted on a robust prefabricated steel frame. To maintain workflow, swing doors were installed on opposite sides of the enclosure for smooth material handling.

A window was incorporated for the operator, ensuring visibility without compromising acoustic performance. For added convenience, internal lighting activated by motion sensors was included in the design.

All components were pre-manufactured at DECIBEL’s facility and delivered to the client’s site for rapid, dry-installation assembly. The system was anchored directly to the floor and existing structural columns, eliminating the need for intrusive works.

Result

The installation achieved a significant reduction in operational noise, improving the acoustic environment of the entire hall. Despite incorporating doors and a window, the structure preserved its soundproofing efficiency. The client was highly satisfied with both the result and the speed of delivery.

Soundproofing industrial machinery requires precision, planning, and a deep understanding of both noise dynamics and operational needs. DECIBEL continues to deliver effective, non-disruptive solutions for even the most demanding production environments. This project was done in collaboration with our partners POTICHU
