Office Conference Room Acoustic Enhancement

Project Overview

DECIBEL was entrusted with the critical task of elevating the acoustic environment of a bustling conference room within a corporate setting.

The conference room served as a hub for various meetings, both virtual and in-person, making it essential to optimise its sound quality while maintaining a conducive atmosphere for productive discussions.

The urgency of the project demanded a swift and seamless installation process to minimise disruption to the office's daily operations.

Scope of Work

• Conducted a comprehensive acoustic assessment of the conference room to identify reverberation issues.
• Analysed the room’s layout, dimensions, and existing sound characteristics to define a tailored solution.
• Selected and supplied HexyBEL acoustic panels for their high sound absorption and aesthetic value.
• Installed the panels with precision and efficiency, completing the work within several hours and minimising disruption to the office environment.

Challenge

Enhancing the conference room's acoustics posed several challenges, chief among them being the need to minimise disruption during the installation process.

The conference room's constant use for meetings and presentations demanded a solution that could be swiftly implemented without interrupting ongoing activities. Ensuring a clean and noise-free installation process was imperative to maintain productivity.

Solution

DECIBEL proposed the use of HexyBEL acoustic panels known for their sound absorption qualities and eco-friendly design. Featuring hexagonal wood plates with PET-Felt backing, these panels offer both aesthetic appeal and acoustic performance.

To cover the office wall, which measured 9.54 m2 (3.88 х 2.46 m), we needed around 30 panels (the PET-Felt surface of each panel is 640/460 mm). The installation process was meticulously planned, with multiple options for mounting the panels to accommodate the client's preferences and minimize disruption.

To ensure efficient mounting on the selected office wall, DECIBOARD super adhesive was selected as a preferred installation option among all 3 possible ones - tape, glue, or screws.

Result

The installation of HexyBEL acoustic panels successfully transformed the conference room into an acoustically optimised space with a premium interior design aesthetic.

By seamlessly integrating functionality and elegance, DECIBEL delivered a solution that improved sound quality and refined aesthetics creating an ideal environment for productive meetings and discussions and ultimately enhancing overall workplace efficiency.
