Echo reduction in multifunctional office space in Bratislava

Project Overview

DECIBEL implemented an acoustic treatment project for a multifunctional office space located in Bratislava, Slovakia, in collaboration with local partner POTICHU. The client reached out to POTICHU with two clear goals: reduce excessive noise and improve acoustic comfort for employees.

The space was affected by high echo levels, which made it difficult for staff to focus and communicate efficiently. The client needed a solution that would deliver fast results without changing the layout or disrupting work.

Reducing Echo and Improving Comfort in Office Environments

Challenge

The main challenge was to reduce reverberation and background noise in an open, multifunctional workspace without affecting the visual appearance or daily operations. The solution needed to target echo while also enhancing the overall acoustic comfort for employees.

Scope of Work

• Site evaluation to identify sources of noise and echo
• Acoustic design for wall-based treatment
• Selection of WavO acoustic panels for their performance and appearance
• Delivery and installation of panels without interrupting office activities

Solution

DECIBEL proposed and installed WavO wall acoustic panels, known for their ability to absorb sound and reduce reflected noise. These panels were strategically placed in areas where sound buildup was the strongest.

The solution focused on keeping the space open and modern while significantly lowering the overall noise level and reverberation time. Installation was completed efficiently, with no impact on the office’s regular operations.

Result

The effect was immediate. Employees reported a noticeable reduction in distracting noise, leading to better focus and improved communication. The office environment became more comfortable, and staff productivity increased as a result.
