Acoustic Treatment for Sofia Office Meeting Rooms

Project Overview
A client in Sofia contacted DECIBEL to address poor acoustic conditions in their office space. The issue was most noticeable in two meeting rooms with several glass wall elements, where echo and reverberation made communication during meetings difficult.
After an on-site inspection by a DECIBEL engineer, we designed a solution combining Beelive acoustic wall panels and hanging Echo Felt panels, achieving both improved sound quality and a visually appealing result.
Improving Speech Clarity in Glass-Walled Meeting Rooms
Meeting rooms with glass surfaces often suffer from excessive sound reflections. This leads to poor speech intelligibility and uncomfortable reverberation. The client wanted a solution that not only solved the acoustic problem but also aligned with their interior design requirements.
Challenge
The main challenge was to reduce echo and reverberation without damaging or permanently altering the glass walls. The installation method had to be fast, non-invasive, and compatible with the office’s design.
Scope of Work
- On-site inspection and acoustic assessment by a DECIBEL engineer
- Design of a combined solution using Beelive acoustic wall panels and Echo Felt hanging panels
- Installation of Beelive panels on two brick walls in one of the office spaces, chosen for their functional and decorative qualities
- Mounting Echo Felt panels in front of glass walls by suspending them from the ceiling with hooks and cables, leaving a 1 cm gap from the glass surface
- Creating multiple vertical rows of panels for maximum sound absorption and visual balance
Solution
We installed Beelive acoustic panels on selected brick walls to improve absorption and add a stylish design element. For the glass wall areas, we suspended Echo Felt panels from the ceiling, using a cable and hook system. The panels were arranged in stacked vertical rows with a small gap from the glass, allowing sound energy to be absorbed efficiently without adhesives or drilling into the glass surface.
This approach provided a quick, clean, and effective installation method that preserved the integrity of the glass and matched the modern office style.
Result
After installation, echo and reverberation were significantly reduced in both meeting rooms. The client reported a major improvement in speech clarity, enabling productive meetings without acoustic distractions. The space is now used daily without any complaints about sound quality.
